These are old pieces from Denishi Kiln, a folk kiln representative of the San'in region. The standard black-glazed pieces make food look great and are often very easy to use. This piece was made in the mid-Showa period and is full of deep charm with its yuzu-skinned black glaze, thickness, and the roughness of the underside that is unique to climbing kiln firing. Because it is plain, you can directly feel the charm of the earth, glaze, and form. These old pieces from Denishi Kiln are now rare, and you will suddenly notice their splendor when you arrange them on the dining table or wash the dishes.
