This glass bottle was made by Kotani Shinzo, the previous president of Kurashiki Glass.
While wound bottles were relatively common, this one is special. Unlike the usual, it has a solid, bulging body and a neck that slopes slightly diagonally, giving it a very charming form. The generous beauty that was born unintentionally from the repetitive handiwork is irresistible. The beautiful and gentle blue that is synonymous with Kurashiki glass is commonly known as "Odani Blue." Its charm increases when held up to the light, and combined with its soft form, it fits easily into everyday life. This is a convenient size to enjoy as an interior decoration, as a flower vase, or as a decanter or other everyday item.
Glass art in Kurashiki was born from the wish of Tonomura Yoshinosuke, the first director of the Kurashiki Folk Crafts Museum. The glass art that Shinzo arrived at after much trial and error has been passed down to the present day and brings richness to our lives.
