This pitcher is made by Miyake Kota of Kurashiki Aokigama, a potter in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, a city where folk art is deeply rooted. Fired to a subdued black color with a wonderful color, this pitcher is made by combining candy glaze and rice bran glaze in a unique combination, and combined with the round pattern attached to the top, it is very modern. The shape has a somewhat exotic atmosphere, and it has a presence that tightens the space as a flower vase or an object. Miyake's pottery, which is created with his own sensibility while admiring the old pottery of Kurashiki, is powerful and full of the charm and energy of folk art. Another attractive feature is the unique earthenware taste that is created by uniquely combining clay from Sakatsu, Kurashiki, which has been used in Kurashiki folk kilns since ancient times. He is a young potter who is sure to have a promising future.
