This is a Mayumiuma (standing votive plaque), a toy dedicated to Muramatsu Kokuzoson in Ibaraki Prefecture.
They inherit the ancient style of ema that continues to this day, and are said to have first been made in Mayumi-cho and Kamesaku-cho, Hitachiota City, during the Edo period by order of Tokugawa Mitsukuni.
At the mid-Showa era's Japanese Folk Crafts Exhibition, the toy was awarded the gold medal in the local toy category for its beautiful colors and painting, and its design is still highly regarded today.
This was made relatively recently and is in good condition, making it a wonderful toy that conveys the culture of precious standing votive plaques.
